General Repairs

Broken fixings or fittings ?

Peeling paint on door frames ?

Initial signs of rotting timber ?

Wall bracket working loose ?

Slow leak / dripping water from a pipe ?

Very often people ignore obvious warning signs around the house or choose to 'put things off for now’ only to subsequently be caught out at just the wrong time. Careful maintenance and planning can keep things looking good and also avoid costly repairs in future.

A loose or dripping tap can cause significant damage if the fitting fails whilst the house is empty. In contrast, replacing a damaged washer or replacing a failing tap is a much quicker job and can save significant expenditure in the long run.

As another example, isolating valves are fitted on water supplies to taps and toilets to enable the easy shut off of water supplies when undertaking maintenance or in the event of an emergency. Quite often these are found to have been previously damaged or they may have become jammed with the build up of limescale. Testing valves on a regular basis and replacing faulty units will mean you have a reliable means to shut off water in the event of emergencies, or when you plan to have some routine work done.

Carrying out simple and regular routine maintenance tasks throughout your property helps to keep everything looking good and also helps to ensure that everyone is safe in your house.
